Slowly Going Away . . .

The original cuts happened the afternoon of April 2nd. We are now at 1 month and 10 days (but who is counting!). Bill was released to move around in normal capacity on May 4th. He spent a few days getting around, climbing the stairs and gathering his strength. He is back in the main house now that he can maneuver the stairs again.

It is getting better. The darker skin is like a tan and that skin is slowly peeling off and under it is newer white/pink skin. One of the cuts has healed and the other two are close.

Although this still looks crazy it is slowly vanishing and really has not been the worst of the pain for Bill (that was the top of the shin). I equate this to a big blood blister, it just has to work its way out of the skin.

Everyone will be glad when this heals and they no longer are looking at Bill's healing leg. It really is better every day and we are very thankful to Dr. Park who was aggressive with the antibiotic treatments in the hospital. We feel that he surely saved Bill's lower leg.

Crazy Busy

Well, Bill is recovering and able to get around. He is moving himself back into the house as he can do the stairs now. I haven't had a chance to take an updated picture but will try to do that this evening.

I have been a bit crazy with work and all. William and I just finished an 8 week CERT - community emergency response team class and had a drill on Saturday. William will probably continue on and join the CERT team. I am satisfied with the information I have and feel we are prepared to deal with future emergencies like the 2007 Storm. We had 36 students from the job corps center volunteer to be victims in the drill. It was very nerve wracking going into the building, figuring out what each person had wrong, directing people and figuring out who was priority and who could wait. The students did a great job and seemed to have a good time.

Right after the drill, Will and I hopped in the car and drove to Naselle, WA for his double header. Another parent brought him home as I needed to drive back and work, at my old job. Since I was in Utah April 28 - May 1st, I wasn't able to put in the prior weekend assisting with month end and everything was needing to be done on the financial statements. The new finance manager started today. So as soon as we can get her trained and up-to-speed, I can quit putting in the extra hours on the weekend. I was keeping up at my new job until all the craziness happened. Now I just feel behind everywhere! I keep telling myself the up-side is Bill, William and I are going to see Elton John and Billy Joel in November and the extra hours made that possible!
