Goonies 25th Anniversary

The town is overrun with Goonies fans!  It also is graduation night for our seniors, so the town is hopping.
Bill is running a booth from the Elliott and looks very dapper in his goonies shirt and blazer!  He actually let me get a couple shots (just don't tell him I've posted them here). This one is really clear of Bill but cuts off his Goonies piece.  This next one is a little more creative on my part.  I only had one lens with me (50 mm, so could get too far away).
So, there are 4 cast members here signing autographs (poor guys - they have been at it all day).  Bill has at least 3 people wading through the lines to get more autographs and has had Joe Pantoliano stop at his booth and look at his own photograph with his daughter.  That is pretty cool.

A few more photos

Will is already sick of me taking pictures.  I had an Ah Ha moment with my camera today.  Now he is off with his buddies and I want to take more photos.  I'll just have to be patient!   I finally have a portrait photo that turned out!  This is Straight Out of the Camera (SOOC) except for removing the color! This is Will and Brian playing hackeysack - note the ball is in mid-air almost exactly between them.

Will's New Vehicle

We found it!  And I can say, I am glad to be done looking through the Craigslist advertisements!  We bought this 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada on Friday.  It will go in tomorrow for a front end alighnment so will not be available for "practice drives" until next week.
It has been  lowered but we will bring up the front end about 1 " when it is rea-aligned.
The tires are in good shape, it has a roof rack, tow package and pretty fancy rims.  About 95K mileage and loaded with options.  It was a unanimous decision to buy this rig.  Should get Will through all his future travels (until he is out on his own and decides he must have something else!).
Yes, we are making him read the manual and get familiar with what is under the hood, under the carraige and all that "fun" stuff.

Fishing Derby - Sunday

Astoria High School had a fishing Derby yesterday at Coffenbuery Lake.  The students at the High School raise trout during the year as part of Aquatic Biology Program.  To assist with the funding for their project, they have a derby when the trout are older.  So some of the trout are tagged with a few colors corresponding to donated prizes and all are released into the lake at an undisclosed time prior to the event.  At 7:30am, everyone pays their $ 10 entry fee and gets to fishing.  Ken Hansen took Matthew (his son), Kyle and William and his boat.  The boys had spent a great day fishing and came back with 12 fish.  Ken and Kyle bagged blue tagged fish and claimed their prizes.

Melanie took some pictures and is going to forward to me so I can post to my blog.  I'll post as soon as I receive them!
